Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience
Responsibilities:
- Providing legal services to clients in transactional and litigation matters.
- Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings
- Collaboratively working with staff keeping track of time records, reviewing client billing, setting up client meetings and completing client projects
- Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
- Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution
- Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action
- Get the appropriate legal documents ready for clients as well as correspondence
Qualifications:
- Required Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Prior experience working in a law firm
- Work independently while handling a variety of client matters
- Knowledge of Clio, and Microsoft Office programs is needed
- Good decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role
- Strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, and professionalism are an absolute must!
- Must be licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Minnesota.
- Experience in private practice for a 1 year is preferred.
2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Business law (forming entities, contracts, M&A)
- Estate and Tax planning – trusts and probate avoidance techniques
- Probate and trust administration
- Real estate transactions
- Civil litigation -bonus if in the areas of business law, estates & trusts, or real estate
